Behind every serving of KADI French fries, rösti and spring rolls is a perfectly coordinated combination of experience and state-of-the-art technology. In Langenthal (CH), people and machines work in unison virtually around the clock. All with the same brand goal: to ensure quality that Switzerland can rely on every day.
Anyone who steps into the KADI production halls immediately feels the unique rhythm: the humming of long lines of conveyor belts, the cutting of knives at precise intervals and the steam rising from shiny stainless steel. It’s a world that never quite comes to rest. Production runs from Sunday evening to midday on Saturday. Everything is in motion, everything is intertwined. Quality is produced at one-second intervals. The result is potato products and snacks that find their way onto countless Swiss plates every day.
KADI has been one of the top Swiss manufacturers of frozen and convenience products since 1951. Today, its range comprises around 270 items, many of which are true classics. In order for 600,000 portions of French fries to leave the factory every day, every unit has to function reliably. Head of Maintenance Alexander Oberkofler and his 15-strong team are responsible for six production lines. They know every unit down to the smallest detail, every screw and every particularity. In a company that works almost non-stop, unforeseen situations are bound to arise. “Not every fault can be avoided. The key is to react quickly and in a targeted manner so that production can continue,” says Alexander Oberkofler. This requires experience, technical understanding and partners that KADI can rely on.
Food production is subject to the strictest standards in terms of hygiene, safety and documentation. MOTOREX’S FOOD LINE, which has been specially developed for the food industry, helps KADI meet these requirements on a daily basis. The H1-certified lubricants are approved for possible but unintended contact with food. In particular, fully synthetic hydraulic oils such as FOOD FLUID 220 and FOOD FLUID 46 are used here, which have proven their worth in demanding production lines. KADI also uses cleaning sprays such as the FOOD C+D SPRAY for product-related applications. It evaporates without leaving any residue and is ideally suited for use during operation.
In addition to their understanding of quality, KADI and MOTOREX are also united by their common home. Both companies are based in Langenthal. “Regional proximity shortens distances and lines of communication,” says Alexander Oberkofler. For KADI, this primarily means fast and practical support in day-to-day production.
This close collaboration creates trust that is palpable in daily operations. The value of this partnership is particularly evident when day-to-day production is at its peak. “One time, the lubrication on a high-speed machine wasn’t running smoothly,” recalls Alexander Oberkofler. “It was only through a joint analysis and the use of a special fluid grease that we were able to find a longterm solution.”
Reliable partnerships behind the scenes in production form the basis for KADI to deliver outstanding performance every day. What’s produced in Langenthal is much more than just food. It’s a real treat. It bears the hallmarks of skill, responsibility and trust – and makes KADI classics a true example of Swiss quality that can be tasted in every bite.
