It is hard to imagine an underground engineering project without drilling or pile driving. And when it comes to all-round protection for screws, sliding seats, and grooves subject to heavy stress, the new, readily biodegradable ECOPASTE HT 400 release paste really stands out, combining high performance and good environmental friendliness.
Ambitious deadlines in the building sector mean that people and machinery often have to work for long periods in demanding conditions. And with modern drilling processes, it is possible to deliver record-breaking results in terms of progress made. But despite the many variables involved, there are some things that cannot be ignored. One of these is careful lubrication of drilling equipment. A precautionary measure that helps avoid time-consuming breakdowns, which can also prove very costly. So with the various dry drilling processes, like kelly drilling, it is essential – for each new drill pipe – to ensure the thread on the screws is sufficiently lubricated with high-pressure-resistant release paste.
The new, readily biodegradable ECOPASTE HT 400 release paste contains a high proportion of solid lubricants. These can be relied on to remain at the lubrication point, even when subjected to extreme temperatures and mechanical influences. So the special lubricant protects highly loaded surfaces against the dreaded prospect of fusing, for example when using the kelly pipes already mentioned, and is designed for lubricating threads on all drill pipes. ECOPASTE HT 400 combines outstanding adhesive power with excellent resistance to water and high corrosion protection. Even after use in the toughest conditions, screws with this kind of protection can be released without causing damage. There is also the high VKA value of 5500 N, which reflects the limit load associated with the weld force on the four-ball apparatus. In addition, the ease with which the paste biodegrades, in accordance with OECD 301B, minimises the risk of ground water and soil contamination.
