Modern, low-friction oils are high-tech products that play an increasingly important role in reducing pollutants in road traffic. They reduce fuel consumption, which means they reduce CO₂ emissions, too.
Cutting back CO₂ emissions is one of the most important ways of meeting climate targets – especially in road traffic. Alongside alternative drive forms such as electric power and fuel cells, modern low-friction oils are trend-setters here, too, since they increase the efficiency of combustion engines, thereby reducing pollutant emissions.
Reducing frictional resistance in engines means less CO₂ emissions – an advantage in stop-and-go traffic especially. CONCEPT T-XL SAE 0W/8 also extends the life of the engine, provides protection at high temperatures and reduces wear. This also helps increase the operational reliability of the engine in general. Last but not least, it improves cold-start properties, especially during the winter months. Cold starts in particular cause increased pollutant emissions: when the engine is cold, it requires more fuel, and combustion is less efficient. Low-friction oils ensure that engines reach their operating temperature more quickly, thereby emitting less carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.
Our new low-friction oil CONCEPT T-XL SAE 0W/8 meets all these requirements, so it is fully geared towards the mobility of the future and new technologies. As a Synthetic Performance High-Tech Motor Oil, it uses high-quality base fluids and additives to guarantee optimum lubricating reliability according to the intended use. The low-viscosity 0W low-friction oils are specifically designed for the new generation of engines – another product that offers the greatest possible benefit for day-to-day driving in the appropriate quality.
Low-friction oils have a key role to play in the internal combustion engines of hybrid drives. Combustion engines in modern hybrid vehicles are designed as auxiliary engines, which are usually activated at short notice as required. CONCEPT T-XL SAE 0W/8 is made to match the design and operation of these sporadically used auxiliary engines. When the engine is started, the bearings are rapidly supplied with oil, thereby greatly reducing wear, while the low viscosity reduces internal friction. This ensures a quick, gentle engine start: the low-viscosity, low-friction oil causes less resistance than a standard engine oil. As a result, less power is required to start the engine, so the reduced friction saves fuel and increases the service life of the engine.
The engine must be designed for low viscosity, however. The use of extremely low-viscosity engine oils such as CONCEPT T-XL SAE 0W/8 can lead to engine damage in older cars since optimum lubrication is no longer guaranteed: this results in increased wear and ultimately to engine damage. For this reason, it is vital for drivers to use the products recommended by the manufacturer or seek advice from a specialist at their garage. There is a clear trend in the automotive industry towards engines that can run on low-viscosity oils – not just to increase performance but also to improve eco-friendliness.
In this low-viscosity range, the tolerances are so tight that they have to be constantly checked. As a manufacturer with decades of experience and expertise in production and sales, we are able to guarantee this. Even the slightest deviation in an additive or viscosity can lead to a massive increase in oil consumption, damaging the entire exhaust system and, in a worst-case scenario, even causing significant engine damage. We operate a rigorous system of quality control, and our CONCEPT T-XL SAE 0W/8 has successfully passed through it – like all our products. Our in-house development laboratory sets the quality requirements, and these are continuously monitored at intervals during production.
