The seventh FMS MX Swiss Federation Motocross Championship presented by MOTOREX delivered a year full of emotions and ultimately an unforgettable season of motocross racing. A total of 26,000 spectators were entertained by the on-track action over the course of the series, which visited seven of the best tracks in Switzerland and culminated in a double-header event at the legendary Roggenburg circuit.

Yamaha-mounted Valentin Guillod became a double champion in 2022 by winning both the MX Open and MX2 categories. Two MOTOREX-supported riders rounded out the MX Open top three with Alain Schafer claiming the series silver medal and Loris Freidig completing the championship podium. In the MX2 class, Franco Betschart finished the season as runner-up with Alexandre Marques racing his MOTOREX-prepared Husqvarna to third overall.

#RACEPROVEN – BRILLIANCE MADE FOR RIDERS

Early in the FMS MX season, MOTOREX revitalized its range of high-performance bike cleaning and preparation products. Put to the test by supported riders and teams during the early rounds of the series before reaching production, MOTO CLEAN PLUSMOTO CLEAN UNIVERSAL,  MOTO SHINE MS1 and MOTO PROTECT were all tested and developed in a true racing environment.

HOLESHOT

Who will emerge from the first turn first? Shortly after the start gates fall, every racer aims to cross the holeshot line at the head of the field. Creating a real spectacle at every round, flames would light up the MOTOREX banner placed above the holeshot line when the leading rider passed underneath in each race. Over the course of the season, the number of holeshots by each racer were calculated with the winner in each class receiving a prize of something to be confirmed.

The HOLESHOT AWARD is a long tradition in MXGP and proved to be an incredible sight for both fans and riders in the MX Open and MX2 categories. Congratulations to the winners of the first ever MOTOREX HOLESHOT AWARDS in 2022.

Here’s what the riders had to say about the HOLESHOT AWARD:

  • Luca Diserens: "The MOTOREX holeshot gives a great feeling when getting there first and knowing that the flame is blazing behind you. I hope that next year this challenge will be repeated because it really gave us riders an extra boost.”

  • Luca Bruggmann: "I think it's a cool thing from MOTOREX that they support the sport and the riders through the HOLESHOT AWARD."

  • Ramon Keller: "I think it's a great initiative! First, there is an additional bonus to be won, which can then be used within the sport. It also aligns us with the international series (MXGP and AMA Supercross), where a holeshot award has been established for a long time. Thank you, MOTOREX!"

OUTLOOK 2023

We are looking forward to a successful 2023 season and are waiting in the wings with additional prizes to give even more back to the racing community. We wish all riders a relaxing time before beginning to prepare for the new year.
