Environment-related requirements in the construction industry are increasing – but at the same time, efficiency and cost-effectiveness also need to be continuously optimised. With the powerful ECOSYNT HEPR 46 hydraulic oil, MOTOREX offers a way to make a simple switch to an environmentally friendly solution without compromising on performance.

Quickly biodegradable hydraulic oils reduce the risks for the environment on one hand while having to meet the performance criteria set by the prescribed oil standards on the other. This is precisely where the innovative HEPR technology comes in.

A leak in the hydraulic system almost always results in operational downtimes and a costly environmental impact. Biodegradability is therefore a key aspect of environmentally friendly lubricants. The ECOSYNT HEPR 46 hydraulic oil meets the Swedish standard SS 15 54 34 and thus the internationally applicable EAL standard. EAL stands for “environmentally acceptable lubricants”. This demonstrates that ECOSYNT HEPR 46 is quickly biodegradable (OECD 301 B), non-bioaccumulative and only minimally harmful to the aquatic environment.

The innovative HEPR formulation is the result of extensive know-how drawn from more than 30 years of research and development in the field of environmentally friendly hydraulic oils. MOTOREX combines high performance features with exemplary environmental friendliness. For example, it meets the Liebherr™ EMT LH-00-HYE requirement for earthmoving machines. Each of the positive product features listed below makes ECOSYNT HEPR 46 a unique next-generation hydraulic oil:

  • Quick air release for safe and wear-free work
  • Electrical conductivity protects against system damage and accelerated ageing of the oil
  • Consistent, temperature-independent hydraulic response behaviour
  • Broad material compatibility – neutral to metals, seals and hoses
  • Meets the highest hydraulic oil standards and numerous manufacturer specifications

The exceptional material compatibility of ECOSYNT HEPR 46 is key to making oil changes easier. Sensitive materials such as white metals, tin, zinc and lead alloys in slide bearings are optimally protected by its non-polar (non-adhesive and penetrating) behaviour. Mineral-oil-resistant hoses and seal materials remain stable, even at high temperatures. During an oil change, attention must be paid to the guidelines stipulated in DIN ISO 15380/A 1 and by the machine manufacturer. This ensures biodegradability according to the applicable standard during the change.

Biodegradable hydraulic oils offer distinct advantages in environmentally sensitive areas of application, such as in and around bodies of water. If water enters the hydraulic oil despite effective sealing of the hydraulic cylinders and components, a high degree of hydrolytic stability is required. ECOSYNT HEPR 46 has this. The reaction with water (hydrolysis) is suppressed and the acidification of the hydraulic oil is slowed down. Hydraulic systems should generally be operated in conjunction with a water separation system, such as ECOFIL. A measure that increases the service life to the “long life” level and thus significantly extends it.

When analysing the overall operating costs of construction machinery, the service life of the hydraulic oil is often underestimated. Instead, the focus is on the specifications and price of filling itself. However, this only provides a snapshot of the situation. As oil change intervals can be increased, and the effort involved in oil changes when they are required is low, operating costs can be reduced and resources conserved. The laboratory analysis of hydraulic oil samples provides evidence for extended change intervals. This valuable service is free of charge for MOTOREX partners in most cases. However, a price cannot be put on the good feeling of working with a high-performance, sustainable hydraulic oil.
